The original version of The Last of Us was released in 2013 for the PlayStation 3, and was quickly followed by a PS4 remaster in 2014. Protagonists Ellie and Joel captured fans' hearts with their relationship and growth throughout the game, which contrasted against the terrifying and overrun game world. The original The Last of Us was widely considered to be ahead of the times with its graphics and gameplay on PS3. The Last of Us Part 1, though a remake and not the original, will join other Sony exclusives on PC, including God of War. Up until this point, The Last of Us was only available on PlayStation consoles, though hopes that the series would come to PC grew after PlayStation announced more PC games are on the way. PC gamers will finally be able to play The Last of Us on PC thanks to the recently-announced The Last of Us Part 1, a remake of the 2013 classic.
